Public Access to Cincinnati Criminal Records

Violent felonies and sex offenses are excluded.

Sealing Cincinnati Criminal Records

Ohio law allows certain criminal records to be sealed after waiting periods are met. To file in Cincinnati, submit an application to the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas. The court sets a hearing date. The prosecutor has a chance to object. If the judge grants the request, the records get sealed and won't appear in most public searches.

The filing fee is $50 plus local court costs. Not every conviction qualifies. First-degree felonies, second-degree felonies, violent crimes, and sex offenses cannot be sealed.
